The changing of the guard: Fat Boy replaces Fat Bob

We don't yet know what the brief for our time with the Fat Boy will be, but I sincerely hope that it demonstrates that you're not forced to inherit someone else's tastes when buying secondhand ...

Ride Magazine's long term testbike from last year, it has been treated to touring kit in the form of a seriously 3-dimensional seat, small but wide saddlebags, wide bars, tall screen and a bit of extra bling, but they racked up 9,000+ miles on it.

First impressions are that it's under-braked, under-powered and overweight compared to the Fat Bob, but then lacking that second disc and the 103 conversion it would always have been a struggle, and the weight thing is perhaps more because I'd just climbed off the new Blackline.

More of both in AmV46, on the streets in May 2011
